Day 21 - A Song That Has A Person's Name in the Title

Day 21, Song Challenge, Hosted by The Mommies Review/Glenda Cates

Daily Prompt was, "Name a Song with a Person's Name in It".

I chose HEY JUDE by John Lennon.

According to Wikipedia, "Hey Jude" was a song by the English rock band the Beatles that was released as a non-album single in August 1968. It was written by Paul McCartney and credited to the Lennon-McCartney partnership. The single was the Beatles' first release on their Apple record label and one of the "First Four" singles by Apple's roster of artists, marking the label's public launch.

"Hey Jude" was a number-one hit in many countries around the world and became the year's top-selling single in the UK, the US, Australia, and Canada.

It stayed in the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 tied the all-time record in 1968 for the longest run top of the US charts. It is frequently included in music critics' lists of the greatest songs of all time.

"Hey Jude" was the first Beatles song to be recorded on eight-track recording equipment. The sessions took place at Trident Studios in central London, midway through the recording of the group's self-titled double album (also known as the Album"), and led to an argument between McCartney and George Harrison over the song's guitar part. Ringo Starr later left the band only to return shortly before they filmed the promotional clip for the single. The clip was directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg and first aired on David Frost's UK television show. Contrasting with the problems afflicting the band, this performance captured the song's theme of optimism and togetherness by featuring the studio audience joining the Beatles as they sang the coda. I remember in my teen years having an eight-track player. It was round and looked like an Astronaut's helmet. It was like the Weltron 2001 "Space Ball" Radio/8 Track Player from the 1970's.
I played that radio until it wouldn't play anymore. I listened for hours on end to 8-tracks. The songs ran from Seals and Crofts to the Beatles. Yes, I listened to "Hey Jude" in my teen years. I still enjoy listening to it.
The first line in "Hey Jude" says
Hey Jude, don't make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better

Remember to let her into your heart

Then you can start to make it better

These words can be applied to anything in life...how many times have you taken a bad situation and said it is what it is, let's make the best of it? That's what Lennon is saying in these words...if we put happiness in our heart, things will start to get better. In other words - - think happy thoughts regardless of the situation.

Whatever is going on in your life today, remember this too shall pass...it's all about the mindset. Stay strong. Be strong. Turn those sad days into happy ones.
