Day 27 in the Song Challenge. The daily prompt was 'name a song that breaks my heart'.

That's easy enough...Unbreak My Heart by Toni Braxton. My heart has been shattered by love and by my family in the past. This song says it all.

It's hard picking up the pieces to a broken, shattered heart. Some days it is as though it will never feel love again. Trust me, I know...I have had to pick up the pieces several times. The most recent was in 2019 - I did not think my heart would or could ever love again. Yet alone, trust. It isn't the same as it was, but each day I work towards repairing that heartache with love for another human being. The very one who shattered it, to begin with. Can I? Will I? Time will tell. Until then, I try...

I think the words Toni Braxton sings says it all - "Say you'll love me again, undo this hurt you caused". How does a person undo hurt that completely destroys another human being? I'm still trying to figure that one out...and it is hard!!! Nothing ever goes back the way it was. It will either be just going through the motions, just settling, calling it quits, or be stronger than it ever was. In the meantime...let me just be.
